Assess the merchandise, glass reflections and customer viewing angle before deciding on source placement. A useful comparison uses the same display, merchandise and surrounding light.

Use the actual merchandise
Place representative products in the showcase. Compare the proposed light colour and available colour-rendering information with the merchandise and the shop’s other light sources.
Inspect the glass from several positions
Look at the front and side glass from normal customer sight lines. A source that is concealed directly may remain visible as a reflection.
Keep maintenance practical
Record how the light source, connections and driver can be accessed. Changes to display shelves should not make replacement unnecessarily difficult.
